Anthropic Releases Claude for Work: A Business-Focused AI Assistant Plan

What Happened

Anthropic has launched Claude for Work, a new subscription plan designed specifically for small and medium-sized businesses. The plan gives teams centralised access to Claude, with features including shared project spaces, admin dashboards, usage controls, and priority customer support. It sits between the individual Pro plan and the enterprise tier.

Why It Matters

Up until now, many businesses using Claude were doing so through a patchwork of individual subscriptions or the API. That created problems around data visibility, cost management, and consistency. Claude for Work addresses this by giving business owners a proper team setup without requiring a full enterprise contract.

The shared project feature is particularly useful. Teams can collaborate on ongoing tasks, keep context centralised, and avoid the problem of each person starting from scratch every time they open the tool.

Anthropic is also emphasising data privacy protections in this tier, which matters for businesses handling client information or sensitive internal data.

Who This Is For

This plan is well suited to small businesses and startups with between 5 and 50 employees who are already using Claude regularly and want a more structured setup. If you are paying for multiple individual Pro accounts, consolidating into Claude for Work could be more cost effective.

If you are building products on top of Claude using the API, this plan is not designed for you. API access remains separate. But for internal productivity use, this is a meaningful improvement over the consumer plans.
